'Senses be praised'



The sound of wind and wind chimes in the background evokes the sense of touch aurally.
Instead of giving thanks to the lover for existing, the speaker praises its own senses for allowing him to perceive his lover.

  1. Thanks for this Katy - a great point about how sound can evoke touch. It's worth thinking about how music (and sound more generally) evokes not only movement, but also specific qualities of movement in terms of pace but also weight (the lightness of the chimes, for example).
