Editing and duration

To carry on the discussionsof duration, and the ways in which editing might shape space and time, here is a moment from The Wild BunchThis is a tiny moment from within quite a long sequence (the whole film is well worth watching, though quite brutal and bleak), but you can get a sense of how editing is building a very particular comprehension of space (particularly through the fragmentation of multiple perspectives) and compressing/extending time (which moments are drawn out and why? Is there particular attention to the body within these moments?). You can also refer back to Lou Lombardo's account of working on the film, in which he mentions the shoot out in a little detail.
