Setting the mood in the opening scene: The Bling Ring

The bustling, explosive instrumentals of Sleigh Bells' "Crown on the Ground" fit well with the opening credits of Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring: it embodies the raging attitude and "youth in revolt"-vibe represented by the film's characters.

  1. Worth noting too that the film begins in silence (or at least without music) so when the music comes in it emphasises the volume and the abrasive/piercing qualities of electronic notes and the roughness of the crackle produced by distortion (the effect of sounding too loud for the speakers).
