Trans-diegetic music: Magnolia

Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia explores fate and the links that connect people. As its 3-hour runtime progresses, these links become more and more imaginative and supernatural. In this clip, the film's many main characters are connected through Aimee Mann's "Wise Up". The song begins to play outside of the film's diegesis, but as they start singing along alone in different locations, it transcends it.
